Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kord Johnson and Seven Duffey Lead Pittsburg to Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pittsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Dallas Christian Chargers 23-20. Those 23 points were actually the fewest the Pirates have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

A big part of Pittsburg's win came down to the chemistry between Kord Johnson and his top target Seven Duffey. Johnson rushed for 61 yards and two scores while Duffey rushed for 95 yards and one TD.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

Pittsburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Dallas Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Pittsburg and Dallas Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Pirates see the field they'll take on Gilmer at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Dallas Christian, their break will end when they face Bishop Gorman at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
