Basketball Recap: Francis Parker Finds Playoff Glory Versus Irvine

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Francis Parker had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They slipped by the Irvine Vaqueros 63-62.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Francis Parker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amon Andrews, who shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. The game was Andrews' third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Columbus Palmer, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Francis Parker was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 18-6 when they've passed the ball that well.

Francis Parker's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Irvine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 29-4.

Coming up, Francis Parker will take on Chatsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chatsworth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 31 matches -- so hopefully Francis Parker likes a good challenge.
