Softball Game Preview: Allen Eagles vs. Prosper Eagles

Allen and Prosper are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. Allen will face off against Prosper at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Allen will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Plano West, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles never let the Wolves get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The result came thanks to Yahmadi Morgan's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Allen got a massive performance out of Claire McKeever, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. McKeever has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Alyssa Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Allen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Prosper came out on top against McKinney on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Lions. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Allen's record is now 13-3. As for Prosper, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
