Basketball Recap: Herscher Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Herscher faced off against Manteno on Friday. The Herscher Tigers lost to the Manteno Panthers at home by a 55-39 margin. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Herscher lost, don't look at Jacob Mccree. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and three blocks. Mccree has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Alek Draper was another key player, putting up nine points.

Herscher's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Manteno, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Herscher will head out on the road to take on Clifton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteno, they will be playing at home against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
