Recap: Fort Meade Miners vs. Frostproof Bulldogs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeland Christian, the Fort Meade Miners were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They secured a 56-51 W over Frostproof. This was a revenge match for Fort Meade, as the team was forced to settle for a 74-69 loss when these two played two weeks ago.

Fort Meade found their leader in underclassman Omari Russell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasier Berrien, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Fort Meade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Frostproof, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 14-6.

Fort Meade won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Placid at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Isaiah Gonzalez and Berrien. As for Frostproof, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
