Baseball Recap: Wonderview Comes Up Short

Wonderview extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 2-12. They came up short against the Sacred Heart Rebels, falling 15-1. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

As for Sacred Heart, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. That 14-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Sacred Heart's part, Carson Roberson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Roberson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Sacred Heart got a massive performance out of Jack Gray, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Ethan Drilling was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Wonderview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-5 loss against Clinton on the 13th. As for Sacred Heart, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 win against Hector on the 13th.
