Baseball Game Preview: Valor Academy vs. Triumph Charter Jaguars

Valor Academy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Triumph Charter Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Valor Academy lost 16-10 to Bert Corona Charter on Monday. Valor Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Johnny Hughes led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing eight bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Herrejon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and one double.

Hughes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Valor Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Triumph Charter fell victim to Sun Valley Magnet and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Jaguars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Valor Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Triumph Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Valor Academy skirted past Triumph Charter 8-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Does Valor Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Triumph Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
