Basketball Recap: Dartmouth Takes a Loss

Dartmouth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Bedford Whalers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Whalers are ranked 32nd).

Dartmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for New Bedford, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

When Dartmouth and New Bedford next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dartmouth will try to stop Somerset Berkley Regional's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, New Bedford will face off against Barnstable and their eight-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
