Football Recap: Brawley Comes Up Short

The Brawley Wildcats came up short against the Poway Titans on Saturday and fell 13-6. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Titans are ranked 48th).

Tasia Mejia threw for 100 yards and one touchdown. Jayana Montoya was her top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one score.

Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Poway, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Brawley will challenge Imperial at 7:30 p.m. on the 8th. As for Poway, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-7 loss against Westview on the 3rd.
