Smithson Valley extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They claimed a resounding 48-7 win over the Wagner Thunderbirds. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rangers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 520th).

As for Wagner, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4. They haven't had much luck with Smithson Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Wagner lost, don't look at Anthony Rodriguez-Martinez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown. Rodriguez-Martinez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
