Softball Recap: William Penn Comes Up Short

William Penn couldn't beat York Catholic on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Bearcats lost 19-7 to the Fighting Irish. The Bearcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Chloe Diggs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jerlyn Polanco-Tineo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

William Penn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for York Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Coming up, William Penn will square off against New Oxford at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colonials have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for York Catholic, they will challenge Littlestown at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
