Basketball Game Preview: Lindhurst Blazers vs. Mesa Verde Mavericks

The Lindhurst Blazers will take on the Mesa Verde Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lindhurst has three straight wins, Mesa Verde has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lindhurst beat Vacaville Christian 45-41.

Lindhurst's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashlynn Wheeler, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Wheeler a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danaya Stephens, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Mesa Verde came up short against Golden Sierra on Friday and fell 36-24. While the Mavericks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 10-2 in the first quarter.

Mesa Verde's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Lindhurst, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.

Lindhurst was able to grind out a solid win over Mesa Verde in their previous matchup back in January, winning 38-27. Does Lindhurst have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mesa Verde turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
