Baseball Game Preview: Laurel Bulldogs vs. Caravel Buccaneers

The Laurel Bulldogs will square off against the Caravel Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Laurel lost 12-2 to Indian River on Thursday.

Caravel not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Odessa a 7-0 shutout. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Ducks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Orvy Potts and Garrett Bohn made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Potts didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Bohn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Potts went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Bohn went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Caldwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Quinn Hamrick, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Laurel might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Caravel in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Laurel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
