Basketball Game Preview: Friday Harbor Wolverines vs. Granite Falls Tigers

The Friday Harbor Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge the Granite Falls Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Friday Harbor will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Saturday, Friday Harbor came up short against Forks and fell 52-41. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Spartans are ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, Granite Falls had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Vashon Island out 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since January 27, 2024.

Friday Harbor's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Granite Falls, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Friday Harbor strolled past Granite Falls when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 63-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Friday Harbor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
