Football Game Preview: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. West Marion Trojans + Official Tickets

St. Patrick is 0-5 against West Marion since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Fighting Irish will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. St. Patrick has given up an average of 29.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Patrick's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Presbyterian Christian on Friday. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Bobcats are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, West Marion posted their closest win since October 18, 2024 on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 35-34 victory over Tylertown. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won three in a row.

St. Patrick better keep an eye on Braxton Albritton. He was instrumental in West Marion's win, rushing for 86 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Those 86 rushing yards gave Albritton a new career-high.

West Marion's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for St. Patrick, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

St. Patrick was dealt a bruising 49-14 defeat at the hands of West Marion in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Fighting Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
