Cross Keys took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 win over the Cottage Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Phoenix, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Cottage lost, don't look at Maxwell Lagan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Lagan's big performance that evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Cottage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross Keys will host Academe of the Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cottage, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against William & Reed Academy at 4:30 p.m.
