Basketball Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer last Saturday, Southern came back down to earth. The Southern Raiders'2024 ended with a 58-43 loss against the Lourdes Central Catholic Knights on Monday. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lourdes Central Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Ebmeier, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Ebmeier a new career-high. Blue Oggs was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Southern will take on Weeping Water at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Auburn at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
