Volleyball Recap: Abraham Lincoln Comes Up Short

If Abraham Lincoln was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Samuel Fels last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Railsplitters came up short against the MAST Charter II Voyagers on Monday, falling 3-0.

While Abraham Lincoln was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into MAST Charter II's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.

MAST Charter II found their leader in sophomore Abbos Dosmatov, who had seven digs and two aces.

Abraham Lincoln's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for MAST Charter II, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Meanwhile, MAST Charter II will square off against rival Samuel Fels at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Voyagers' favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Panthers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
