Softball Recap: Shikellamy Takes a Loss

Shikellamy was the 10-0 winner over Line Mountain when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Braves fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 17-16 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (12), the Braves still had to take the loss.

Sydney Sinko stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two triples. Another player making a difference was Ella Oakes, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Line Mountain, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Shikellamy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-8 win against Shamokin Area on the 25th. As for Line Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against Newport on the 26th.
