Jamestown dropped down to 7-3 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 19-2 to the Williston Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 back in March.
As for Williston, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
For Williston's part, Mekiah Klumker made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Klumker has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Williston got a massive performance out of Rylee Irgens, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Irgens has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Alli Wilcox was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jamestown will head out to face off against Watford City at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Williston, they will square off against Central Cass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
