Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newaygo). They were the clear victors by a 30-5 margin over the Tri County Area Vikings on Tuesday. The Lions have beaten the Vikings the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Gabby Arney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ella Luchies was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Newaygo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Newaygo's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Tri County Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Newaygo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair will be back at it again later today.
