Baseball Recap: Heritage Victorious

Heritage won the last time they faced Hemet and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Wade Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brenton Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.

Heritage's record now sits at 13-4. As for Hemet, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Heritage has already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Temecula Valley on the 28th. As for Hemet, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 win against Mission Vista on the 31st.
