Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Liberty's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Liberty had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Enumclaw Hornets get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Friday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Avery Huh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Liberty let Isabella Rockey and Kaila Siu run wild. Rockey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Siu went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases Siu has posted since back in April.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Enumclaw, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-3.

Coming up, Liberty will face off against Snohomish at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Enumclaw has already played their next match (against Hermiston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
