Baseball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Burlington's offense. They lost 16-0 to the Elkhorn Elks on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Tuesday.

Burlington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Baumeister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Burlington and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Elkhorn, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Burlington is set to challenge their familiar foe Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Elkhorn will square off against rival Union Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
