Baseball Recap: Chiles Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Chiles and Gulf Breeze squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Chiles had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Timberwolves have lost by just one run.

Saunder Dinkelman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Colby Tadder, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Chiles and nudges their season record down to 15-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Gulf Breeze, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 16-10 record.

While Chiles had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
