Football Recap: Tampa Catholic Comes Up Short

The Tampa Catholic Crusaders ended up a good deal behind the Killian Cougars on Friday and lost 32-17. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Tampa Catholic still got an impressive performance from Kenneth 'KJ' Morgan, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two TDs.

Anton Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Killian, rushing for 123 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, while also picking up 56 receiving yards. Smith's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Corey Swint did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 126 receiving yards.

Tampa Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Killian, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Tampa Catholic has already played their next matchup, a 19-7 defeat against Berkeley Prep on the 10th. As for Killian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hialeah at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Thoroughbreds have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
