After a string of four wins, Golden's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 72-47 to the Columbine Rebels.

Golden lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ashlyn Bates, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Carbone, who posted five points and six boards.

Columbine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Speir led the charge by going 10 of 18 on her way to 22 points and three steals. Jordyn Washington was another key player, putting up 20 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Golden's defeat dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Columbine, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Golden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-30 win against Littleton on the 29th. As for Columbine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-42 victory against Lakewood on the 29th.
