Volleyball Recap: Oconee County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oconee County waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Jefferson Dragons. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

While Oconee County might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Jefferson scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19.

Petra Mooney paced Oconee County's offense, picking up nine kills. Mooney got some help from Fendley Kimbro and her 12 assists. Kimbro was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Oconee County's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Jefferson, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Oconee County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Calhoun on the 16th. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against LaFayette on the 16th.
