Basketball Recap: Lawson Monroe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pace Academy over Midtown + How To Watch

Pace Academy lost against Midtown back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pace Academy fell just short of Midtown by a score of 42-39. While losing is never fun, Pace Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Midtown is ranked 105th).

Pace Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lawson Monroe, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Smith, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points and six boards.

Pace Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Midtown, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Pace Academy has already played their next matchup, a 36-34 loss against Westminster on the 13th. As for Midtown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-38 defeat against Carrollton on the 13th.
