Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-19. They had to suffer through a 67-9 loss at the hands of the Catoosa Indians. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

As for Catoosa, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Catoosa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Bowen led the charge by shooting 67% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Jacquelyn Cornwell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten steals.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will welcome Webster at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Catoosa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Gibson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
