Softball Recap: Elkton Comes Up Short

Elkton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-3 to the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-3 back in April.

Elkton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelynn Kruse, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Elkton's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkton will welcome North Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Douglas will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Elkton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they will host Lowell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
