Softball Recap: Heritage Academy's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Heritage Academy won the last time they faced Mission Heights Prep and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Heroes put the hurt on the Phantoms with a sharp 24-2 win. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Tatum Meeker was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy got a massive performance out of Elsie Earll, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Earll also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Sarahi Rico was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Heritage Academy, bringing their record up to 15-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for Mission Heights Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will welcome Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Heritage Academy have won nine straight at home dating back to last season, while Heritage Academy won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Mission Heights Prep, they will host Ridgeline Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something the Phantoms will no doubt try to take advantage of.
