Softball Recap: Leavenworth Comes Up Short

Leavenworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Atchison Phoenix, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Wednesday.

Elizabeth Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Leavenworth's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Atchison, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Leavenworth and Atchison will both be playing Sumner Academy the next time they take the field. Leavenworth will host Sumner Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Atchison will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
