Preview: Lincoln County Red Devils vs. Schley County Wildcats

The Lincoln County Red Devils will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Schley County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lincoln County walked away with it. They took their match on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over Wilkinson County. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lincoln County had established a 35 point advantage.

Semaj Jenkins and Mekhi Wade were among the main playmakers for Lincoln County as the former rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 64 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Schley County put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Greenville 63-32 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-8.

Schley County had a senior duo take command as Jay Kanazawa threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes and Jalewis Solomon picked up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Greenville to a paltry 226 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Schley County's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Trenton Stubbs and his two sacks.

Lincoln County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Schley County, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Lincoln County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 176.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Schley County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 168.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
