Baseball Recap: Crestline Has No Trouble Against Ridgemont

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Gilead, Crestline was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Ridgemont Golden Gophers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Weston Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Crestline: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-13 otherwise.

In other batting news, Auston Henson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Quentin Kapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Crestline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Crestline's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Ridgemont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Coming up, Crestline will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgedale at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ridgemont, they will venture away from home to face off against Upper Scioto Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
