Volleyball Game Preview: Ansonia Chargers vs. Derby Red Raiders

The Ansonia Chargers will square off against the Derby Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ansonia has now lost seven straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since October 8.

Ansonia came up short against Oxford on Friday, falling 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Derby hadn't done well against Kennedy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Red Raiders had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2.

Derby took Kennedy into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12.

Ansonia's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Derby, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
