Softball Recap: Central Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lee Park Prep last Monday, Central Academy came back down to earth. Central Academy came up short against the West Stanly Colts on Tuesday, falling 9-1. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Colts when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Easterly, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for West Stanly, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central Academy Cougars challenge Anson Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Stanly, they will challenge Mooresville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
