Basketball Recap: Hayworth Christian Comes Up Short

Hayworth Christian was the 57-55 winner over Carolina Christian Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell 53-45 to Carolina Christian Academy on Monday.

Despite the defeat, Hayworth Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Daniel Gerringer posted 21 points. That was a full 46.7% of the Knights' points, marking the third time in a row Gerringer has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Grayson Rubnich, who earned 11 points.

Hayworth Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Carolina Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hayworth Christian will venture away from home to face off against Carolina Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Carolina Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
