Recap: Aynor Blue Jackets vs. Loris Lions
The Aynor Blue Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 17th straight defeat. Their rough 53-30 defeat to Loris might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Aynor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Loris is ranked 84th).
Aynor's loss came despite strong showings from Robinson Mendez and Ny'vere Gaddy. Mendez scored eight points along with 16 rebounds, while Gaddy scored four points. Mendez has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played.
Aynor has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 18 of their last 19 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season. As for Loris, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Aynor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loris, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Battery Creek at 6:30 p.m. Loris is coming into the game with six straight wins at home, so Battery Creek is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
