Baseball Game Preview: Fordham Prep Rams vs. Xavier Knights

The Fordham Prep Rams will face off against the Xavier Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fordham Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Xavier will be coming in after a loss.

Fordham Prep's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Iona Prep with a sharp 8-0 win. The Rams not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024.

Joseph Penny looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Fordham Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Soroa, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, Xavier came up short against Archbishop Molloy on Tuesday and fell 7-2.

Fordham Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Xavier, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.

Fordham Prep took their victory against Xavier in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. Will Fordham Prep repeat their success, or does Xavier has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
