Basketball Recap: La Vega Makes It 12 in a Row on the Road

La Vega waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They really took it to the China Spring Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-46 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.

La Vega's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angela Carroll, who went 9 of 14 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. Carroll's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CeMaria Kelly, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 16 points along with six steals and five assists.

La Vega pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.6 points per game. As for China Spring, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.

La Vega will face off against Robinson at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. China Spring has already played their next match (against Gatesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
