Baseball Recap: Lincoln Lutheran Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Lincoln Lutheran nor Fort Calhoun made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 6-5.

Braxton Glines was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gavin Cornell and Kruz Fiddler did some serious damage despite the final result: Cornell got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Fiddler got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Lincoln Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fort Calhoun, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Lincoln Lutheran nor Fort Calhoun have any future games scheduled.
