Soccer Recap: Mercedes Comes Up Short

Mercedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Harlingen South Hawks, falling 6-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Mercedes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Harlingen South, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1-1.

Mercedes will head out on the road to face off against Donna North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harlingen South, they will face off against Edcouch-Elsa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen South will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
