Basketball Recap: Sunshine Bible Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Soliel Mickelson and Ciera Mickelson

Sunshine Bible Academy lost against Iroquois/Lake Preston back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 50-20 to Iroquois/Lake Preston, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Sunshine Bible Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ciera Mickelson, who posted two points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, and Soliel Mickelson, who put up three points and three steals. Ciera is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Sunshine Bible Academy's record is now 1-7. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, they moved to 3-9 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunshine Bible Academy has already played their next matchup (against Leola/Frederick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Iroquois/Lake Preston has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Castlewood.
