Baseball Recap: Illinois Valley Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monmouth-Roseville last Saturday, Illinois Valley Central came back down to earth. Illinois Valley Central fell just short of the Limestone Rockets by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Grey Ghosts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Illinois Valley Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Garceau, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Griffen Landsverk was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Illinois Valley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Limestone, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Illinois Valley Central is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Limestone, they will host Nazareth Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
