Softball Recap: St. Charles North North Stars vs. South Elgin Storm

St. Charles North stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the South Elgin Storm. Winning may never get old, but St. Charles North sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

St. Charles North got a great performance from Paige Murray as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Murray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Patterson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ella Heimbuch was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

On South Elgin's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Kiel, who went 1-for-3 with a double.

St. Charles North is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. As for South Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-10.

As of now, neither St. Charles North nor South Elgin have any future games scheduled.
