Albany and Shaker are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Falcons will square off against the Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Albany is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Saratoga Springs with a sharp 71-46 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Akarri Gaddy was her usual excellent self, going 10-for-13 on her way to 28 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 54% in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janae Byrams, who posted ten points and eight assists.
Albany was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are a perfect 8-0 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Shaker's strategy against Averill Park two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bison blew the Golden Knights out of the water with a 65-21 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bison's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Golden Knights are ranked 121st).
Albany better keep an eye on Peyton Hoblock. She was instrumental in Shaker's win, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Hoblock posted four steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Malia Jackson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.
Albany's record now sits at 14-7. As for Shaker, their record is now 18-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Albany has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Shaker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 40.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Albany was taken down by Shaker 65-32 in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
