Softball Recap: Choate Rosemary Hall School Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Choate Rosemary Hall School got themselves on the board against Hopkins on Thursday, but Hopkins never followed suit. They blew past the Hilltoppers 8-0. Considering the Wild Boars have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalia Draghi was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Draghi was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maggie Swanson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Margot Seiden was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Choate Rosemary Hall School's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Hopkins, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Choate Rosemary Hall School will take on Williston Northampton at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hopkins, they will square off against St. Luke's at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Storm will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Hilltoppers surely won't give up without a fight.
