Lake Travis put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Austin Maroons as they made off with a 40-14 win. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Maroons are ranked 734th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Travis had a senior duo take command as Lark Sidle picked up 239 receiving yards and three scores and Luke McBride threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 16.5 yards per attempt. Sidle showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 69 yards.

Lake Travis' run defense was locked in: Austin could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Carter Lofton for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Lake Travis; they were averaging 5.6yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 4.7 per game.

Lake Travis' defense didn't let Whit Davenport, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Austin's QB won't forget Austin Doane anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Ben Soules got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lake Travis' victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Austin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Lake Travis will challenge Round Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
