Baseball Recap: Carson Kirkland Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mitchell

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pasco, Wiregrass Ranch was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mitchell Mustangs a 2-0 shutout. The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Wiregrass Ranch got a great performance from Dillon Singleton as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Singleton also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Bulls are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Wiregrass Ranch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Kirkland, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Mitchell, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-9.

Coming up, Wiregrass Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mitchell, they will head out to face off against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
